# Bilic rules out move for Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic

While West Ham’s goalkeepers have had their ups and downs in recent seasons, Slaven Bilic seems perfectly happy with the two he has at the club right now.

Darren Randolph, the club’s current No.1 between the sticks, impressed in limited opportunities last season and was a standout performer for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016, prompting the club to hand him a new four-year contract to fend off interest from other clubs with promises that he would be handed first-team games if Adrian slips up, which he did.

A decision was made for West Ham’s trip to White Hart Lane that Randolph would replace Adrian in goal against Tottenham after the Spaniard made a number of high-profile errors throughout the season.

Since then, Randolph has excelled in the Premier League while Adrian has had to make do with featuring in limited domestic cup games, but Bilic doesn’t feel a fresh face is needed.

Having been linked with Chelsea’s backup stopper Asmir Begovic along with other goalkeepers, Bilic was quick to nip those rumours in the bud in his latest [London Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/slaven-bilic-says-antonio-conte-has-transformed-chelsea-players-into-superheroes-but-west-ham-boss-a3482426.html) column.

“We have been linked with many players in the last three transfer windows, including Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic,”

“In those three windows, though, I have said a few times that the only position in the team I have absolutely no interest in discussing is the goalkeeping spot.

“I was happy — and I am still happy — with Adrian and Darren Randolph. If you ask me whether they will both still be here next season, I would say yes.”

Joe Hart has also been mentioned as a possible West Ham target but it seems Bilic will spend his summer transfer budget on improving his options further up the pitch.
