# West Ham eye summer move for Turkish striker

West ham are interested in Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun and they, along with Norwich City, will send scouts to watch him in action in the Istanbul derby against Galatasaray on Monday, according to [reports](https://turkish-football.com/west-ham-norwich-city-scout-19-goal-turkish-besiktas-striker-cenk-tosun/) in Turkey.

Both clubs have held an interest in the 25-year-old for some time now but neither have made an official offer for him but they will continue to scout him.

The Turkish international started the season as Besiktas’s second choice striker but has forced himself into a regular starting role with his goalscoring prowess. He’s the top scorer in the Turkish Super Lig and he has 19 goals in all competitions this season, including this strike against Benfica in the Champions League:

It’s fair to assume that the player wouldn’t leave a Champions League club to join Norwich if the Canaries are in the Championship again next year but a move to the Premier League with West Ham could appeal to him.

The Hammers tried, unsuccessfully, to get themselves a quality striker in the summer so Tosun could be the man they target at the end of the current campaign.
