# Brentford boss gives update on Hogan deal

Brentford manager Dean Smith has issued an update on the latest in West Ham’s pursuit of their top goalscorer, Scott Hogan.

Smith has admitted that Hogan is free to leave the Championship but only if the right offers come in.

The striker has been a target for West Ham throughout the January transfer window, but the Hammers are seemingly unwilling to meet Brentford’s £15 million price tag.

As reported by [Essex Live](https://www.essexlive.news/west-ham-target-scott-hogan-set-to-join-robert-snodgrass-through-the-door-at-the-london-stadium/story-30092647-detail/story.html), Smith said:

> We would let any of our players go anywhere for the right money, because everybody has a value at any club. We’ve had offers from different clubs for Scott Hogan and all of them have not met the valuation. We keep our business strictly private. We’ll say no to people if we don’t think the value is met and then it’s up to them to come up with a deal that does meet ours.

Hogan has been out of the Brentford squad since the reported interest and looks likely to miss out on their visit to Stamford Bridge, to face Premier League leaders Chelsea later today.

It is now believed that the Bees may be forced to lower the evaluation of their striker in order to get the deal over the line before Tuesday’s deadline.

The player has reportedly had his head turned by the opportunity to play Premier League football at the London Stadium.
