# Robbie Keane tells West Ham exactly what to do with Payet

Former West Ham United loanee, Robbie Keane has told the club they need to sell Dimitri Payet and replace him.

Speaking on [Goals on Sunday](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10738749/robbie-keane-urges-west-ham-to-sell-dimitri-payet-and-sign-someone-new), Keane admitted that the French midfielder has caused a problem at the club.

The Irishman said:

> There’s a problem there. It is looking like that the best thing for the club and him is probably to leave, certainly if you can get good money for him.

> He is a top, top player, but they are flourishing since he announced he wants to go. When you have a player who is a special talent and wants to leave, there is always a few in the dressing room, people like Mark Noble who is a legend there, who is thinking ‘this is my club and you just want to walk away’

After rejecting a move away from the London Stadium in the summer, Payet has now made it clear that he wants to leave the club.

The former Marseille man has been linked with a move back to his old club for family reasons. Fellow Ligue 1 side, Nice have also been linked with a loan move for the player.

> Everybody has their own situations. I don’t know if he’s homesick and his family wants to go home, but I think for West Ham, try and get the money and get someone in this window or in the summer.

If West Ham are unable to find a club that will meet their asking price for the player, they may be forced into allowing the player to leave on loan.

However, this would make finding a replacement for Payet harder for the club, with the days ticking in the January transfer window.
