# West Ham linked with Nikola Kalinic

Finding a new striker this month is West Ham’s main priority this month and thus far, no one looks close to joining the club.

Now that Simone Zaza’s exit from the club in finalised after he joined Valencia last week, room in the squad has been made to bring in a replacement.

Brentford’s Scott Hogan has been heavily linked, but according to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/paper-talk-14943), the Hammers are now eyeing a move for Fiorentina’s Nikola Kalinic.

The 29-year-old striker has enjoyed a great start to the season with the Serie A club netting 13 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions, averaging a goal every 153 minutes.

His form has not gone unnoticed by the mega rich clubs of the Chinese Super League who’re eyeing him up in a €50m deal but it’s believed Kalinic isn’t convinced on a move to China.

With Slaven Bilic being a fellow Croatian and worked with Kalinic during his time as their national team manager, he could persuade him to make the move to East London.

If the asking price is set at €50m, however, that might be a figure too steep for the Hammers to meet.
