# West Ham monitoring progress of Martin Terrier

Signing promising young players has been an objective for the club ever since Slaven Bilic took charge of the club over 20 months ago.

Martin Samuelsen, Ashley Fletcher, Domingos Quina and Toni Martinez are the notable names Bilic has brought to the club and welcomed into the first-team fold but another could be on the horizon.

According to French source [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/L-angleterre-aime-le-lillois-martin-terrier/767900), Lille’s talented forward Martin Terrier has been scouted by West Ham this season, along with fellow Premier League outfit Everton and Serie A side Fiorentina.

The 19-year-old attacker signed his first professional contract back in the summer and made his debut for the Ligue 1 during a 2-1 win over Bastia back in October. Terrier has made eight appearances for Lille this season and scored his first goal for the club in a 4-1 win over AS Excelsior last week.

Able to play either on the winger or as a central striker, Terrier is one of the best young prospects in French football currently and would be a great addition to a Hammers squad which already possesses a lot of young talent.
