# West Ham and Southampton linked with move for Spaniard

West Ham and Southampton are just two of the teams interested in signing Eibar midfielder Dani Garcia, according to reports in Spain (via [Sky](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre)).

The 26-year-old is about to enter the final 18 months of his deal with the La Liga club as talks about an extension are yet to bear any fruits, so speculation about his future has already started over in Spain.

Bundesliga side Werder Bremen are also interested in the holding midfielder, so if West Ham do want to sign him, they’ll have a battle on their hands.

Garcia was part of the Eibar team which was promoted to the top flight in Spain for the first time in the club’s history back in 2014 and he’s apparently impressed scouts with how he’s adapted to playing in La Liga every week,

Eibar will be keen to keep the midfielder and are looking to extend his contract but if it becomes clear that he wants to leave, they might decide to take the money rather than let his contract run down even further.
