# Hammers boost as Spurs star injured on international duty

West Ham have been handed a boost ahead of their game with Tottenham Hotspur after Vincent Janssen was injured on international duty.

Reports from the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham-s-vincent-janssen-could-face-west-ham-despite-withdrawing-from-netherlands-squad-with-a3393466.html) suggest the striker could be fit for the clash with West Ham but that’s far from concrete.

The Dutchman suffered a collision with Simon Mignolet during Netherlands’ game with Belgium and he suffered a memory blackout for over 20 minutes.

He’ll reportedly need to show significant progress in his recovery to be eligible for the game at White Hart Lane on November 19th.

Toby Alderweireld is also facing a fight to be fit after he suffered nerve damage in his knee against West Brom in mid October.

His comeback is progressing but it’s still supposedly up in the air whether he will indeed make the game.

Hammers boss Slaven Bilic will be hopeful neither make the squad to further increase his chances in a game that looks incredibly tough on paper.

West Ham  take some better form into the match, however, with only one loss in their last five, taking eight points in that time.

It remains to be seen whether Janssen or Alderweireld will make the squad/starting eleven, but every little will help for The Irons, who are looking to continue their upward form curve and reprieve what’s been a disappointing start to 2016/17.
