# West Ham to move for Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas

According to a report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/west-ham-eye-january-move-9216239), West Ham are plotting an audacious swoop for Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas.

The Spaniard has been finding regular first-team football hard to come by under Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge, with N’Golo Kante and Nemanja Matic appearing to be the more favoured central midfield partnership.

In a bid to play regularly Fabregas could make a move away from Chelsea with London rivals West Ham sniffing around the Spanish international.

The report suggests that the Hammers are exploring the possibility of making a January move for the former Barcelona midfielder, with a loan deal in mind to help him escape his slow start to the Premier League season.

On top of this, it’s also stated that Chelsea could even subsidise Fabregas’ wages, making the prospect of taking the ex-Arsenal midfielder on loan an even more attractive thought to everyone associated with West Ham.

West Ham could do with some more quality and experience in the squad after a pretty poor start to the 2016/17 season, so if Fabregas is available to them, it should come as no surprise to see them looking into the possibility of brining him in.
