# Contact made between Napoli and Simone Zaza

Simone Zaza’s future might not be as straightforward as it seemed just three months ago.

The Italian forward signed for West Ham on a season-long loan with an obligatory purchase option of £20m if he made 10 or more appearances for the club.

Through nine appearances, he has been an abject failure and doesn’t look any bit like a £20m striker which has forced West Ham’s hand to try and get out of the deal without buying the 25-year-old.

Serie A side Napoli are keen on signing him, but they can’t negotiate with Juventus due to the deal they have with West Ham, nor do Juventus want to sell to a direct league rival.

How do you get around it? Well, Napoli have made contact with Simone Zaza and his representatives, claim [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/news/402805/calciomercato-napoli-contatti-con-zaza-c-la-conferma.html), and there could be movement on that front.

In fact, they cite *Kiss Kiss Radio Napoli* who state “Something’s there, something is moving” in terms of a move for Zaza to Napoli in January.

It remains to be seen whether the Hammers and Napoli can reach an agreement which sees his move to West Ham become finalised, and then sold immediately to Napoli.
