Let’s be honest, it’s been a rough start to the 2016/17 season.
Another embarrassing Europa League qualifying rounds exit to Astra Giurgiu preceded a run of just one win in our opening six Premier League games – oh, and not to mention the swathe of injuries to key first-team players.
Things did pick up in October but as we enter the Winter months, the Hammers sit 17th in a tight bottom half of the Premier League table.
It’s hard to pinpoint why. I suppose it’s a combination of the unfortunate injuries, poor summer transfer business, naive tactical approaches and plain bad luck in some instances.
