Key Battles: West Ham vs Sunderland

West Ham face Sunderland this weekend in what is yet another must-win clash. The Hammers’ home form has been far from perfect since they moved to the London Stadium and it is common knowledge that if you want to have a successful campaign in any league, you need to perform well at home.

Last weekend, West Ham finally put in a good performance, and a 1-0 win away to Crystal Palace followed. A change in formation from Slaven Bilic certainly worked, with it likely to be used this weekend against Sunderland and hopefully inspire another win.

The Black Cats are a team desperate for a win, though, just like West Ham were last week when they came away with an unexpected three points. David Moyes is fighting for his jobs and the Sunderland players are fighting to avoid another relegation battle at the end of the season. With that in mind, here are some key battles that could define the result of Saturday’s game.
