# Enner Valencia had a number of offers to leave West Ham

On transfer deadline day, West Ham found a taker for Enner Valencia, somehow.

The Ecuadorian attacker joined Everton on a season-long loan for a reported fee of £2m, and the deal contains a buy option worth £14.5m.

Yet to feature for the Toffees since signing, Valencia could place some part in their home game against Middlesbrough this weekend.

Since signing for West Ham from Pachuca in 2014 for £12m, Enner Valencia only managed to find the net on 10 occasions in 66 appearances and has been largely regarded as a bit of a flop in East London.

A summer exit was always likely due to the Hamers’ very public chase of a marquee striker but the 26-year-old states he had several offers to pick from.

“I had some options but when I heard about Everton and saw the quality of the players, nobody would say not to come here,” Valencia said to the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/new-everton-signing-enner-valencia-11887865).

“It is a great opportunity to come here with great team-mates and an excellent opportunity to have a great year in the Premier League,” he added.

Whatever happens this season on loan with Everton, it’s unlikely that we’ll see Valencia in a West Ham shirt again.
