Team News: West Ham vs. Watford

With the international break behind us, West Ham can now focus on the Premier League once again – with many of their star performers returning to full fitness.

Most notably Dimitri Payet, who is welcomed back into the first-team after missing several weeks with a thigh injury sustained against Chelsea in the season opener.

His partner in crime, Manuel Lanzini, is also expected to start after another full week’s training following his comeback from a knee injury against Manchester City.

Havard Nordtveit and Winston Reid have recovered from foot and facial injuries respectively and should feature in some capacity tomorrow afternoon.

New signing Simone Zaza is fit to start for West Ham and is expected to do so, while deadline day signing Alvaro Arbeloa lacks match fitness and is unlikely to start.

Andy Carroll is close to a return to first-team action but won’t feature tomorrow. He’s expected to return from a knee injury next week.

Aaron Cresswell and Andre Ayew are both sidelined for the long-term, while Diafra Sakho will be eligible for selection in October when he recovered fully from a back injury.

£5.5m signing from FC Sion Edimilson Fernandes will be playing for the West Ham U23s tonight and will, therefore, be unlikely to feature tomorrow against Watford. It’s believed Sofiane Feghouli will also play in a bid to get some minutes under his belt and he could make the bench tomorrow.

With that in mind, here’s a last look at our predicted West Ham starting XI and bench for the visit of Watford.
