# Adrian or Darren Randolph? West Ham fans make their decision

One of the biggest talking points on social media this summer amongst West Ham fans has been the debate between whether Adrian or Darren Randolph should be the No.1 goalkeeper for the club.

Spaniard Adrian has been the first-choice ‘keeper at the club for several seasons now following his free transfer move from Real Betis in 2013. Impressive form saw the club offer Adrian a new two-year contract until the summer of 2017 with an option of a further two years.

Last summer, West Ham signed Darren Randolph on a free transfer from Birmingham to be his backup. A number of terrific performances in the cup competitions and a few notably blunders from Adrian over the course of last season saw the question be asked whether Adrian should remain the club’s No.1 shot-stopper.

An impressive Euro 2016 campaign for Randolph saw him attract interest from Southampton and Everton before he committed his long-term future by signing a new four-year contract with the club until 2020.

Adrian was given the nod in the club’s Premier League opener against Chelsea last night while Darren Randolph is expected to be handed starts in the domestic cups and Europa League fixtures this season.
