# West Ham listening to offers for Pedro Obiang

West Ham are listening to offers for midfielder Pedro Obiang this summer, according to [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/west-ham-star-looks-set-stay-despite-new-interest/?) who cite reports from Italy.

Obiang wants to stay and fight for his place in the first team, [according to what he says on Twitter](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/06/pedro-obiang-confirms-desire-stay-west-ham/), but whether he’ll get the chance to do so remains to be seen.

The Spaniard signed for the Hammers last summer from Serie A side Sampdoria for a fee in the region of £5.1m and made 30 appearances for the club last season, only 16 of which were starts.

Having started his career with [Atletico Madrid](https://readlaliga.com/), the Spanish midfielder to Sampdoria in 2008 and spent his entire professional career in Italian football before making the move to the [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) last summer.

Another Serie A side, Napoli, made an approach for Obiang this summer but have yet to follow up on their initial interest.

Torino have held talks with West Ham to sign Obiang, while Fiorentina have offered £5m to sign him this summer which is expected to be turned down.

West Ham will listen to offers ‘they can’t refuse’ to sell Obiang this summer, which would suggest they’d need to be making decent profit on the £5.1m they paid last summer.
