# Lewis Page to join Coventry on loan

Young defender Lewis Page will join Coventry on loan today, according to the [Coventry Telegraph](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/coventry-city-transfer-news-west-11722816?).

The deal will see Page join Coventry initially until January, with a view to extending it for the full season – similar to the deal which saw Josh Cullen re-join Bradford on loan yesterday, and the defender will go straight into their squad to face Portsmouth in the EFL Cup.

A product of the club’s academy, Page has been on the fringes of the first-team squad for the last two years and was handed his first-team debut in the Europa League qualifiers last season making three appearances in total.

The 20-year-old went on to join Cambridge United on a short-term loan and impressed during his six appearances for the club before returning to West Ham.

The injury to Aaron Cresswell saw Page gifted with an opportunity to break into the first-team at left-back, but the club have opted to sign a player with more experience and today brought in Arthur Masuaku from Olympiakos for a reported fee of £6m.

As a result, Page will again go out on loan for some first-team experience, with Coventry poised to sign the youngster on a season-long loan this week.
