# Lewis Page poised to join Coventry on loan

Young West Ham defender Lewis Page is wanted by Coventry City on a season-long loan, according to the [Coventry Telegraph](https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/football/football-news/coventry-city-transfer-news-live-11717748).

Club insider [ExWHUEmployee](https://www.thewesthamway.co.uk/2016/08/06/exwhuemployee-transfer-update-exclusive-leaving-loan/) also reported the news that the talented defender will be shipped out on loan.

A product of the club’s academy, Page has been on the fringes of the first-team squad for the last two years and was handed his first-team debut in the Europa League qualifiers last season making three appearances in total.

The 20-year-old went on to join Cambridge United on a short-term loan and impressed during his six appearances for the club before returning to West Ham

The injury to Aaron Cresswell saw Page gifted with an opportunity to break into the first-team at left-back, but the club have opted to sign a player with more experience and today brought in Arthur Masuaku from Olympiakos for a reported fee of £6m.

As a result, Page will again go out on loan for some first-team experience, with Coventry poised to sign the youngster on a season-long loan this week.
