# West Ham target Gabbiadini courted by Southampton

According to [Tutto Mercato Web](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/esclusiva-tmw-southampton-occhi-in-serie-a-nel-mirino-gabbiadini-o-zaza-862469), Southampton have made contact with [Napoli](https://readseriea.com/) over the signing of Manolo Gabbiadini, who has been [targeted](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/14/manolo-gabbiadini-puts-west-ham-stoke-city-red-alert/) by West Ham in recent times.

The report claims that Southampton are keen on a move for the striker and have spoken to [Napoli](https://readseriea.com/) regarding his availability.

Gabbiadini is also [reportedly](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/14/manolo-gabbiadini-puts-west-ham-stoke-city-red-alert/) chasing a move away from Napoli this summer as he looks to find first-team football elsewhere; potentially suiting The Hammers or the newly interested Southampton

The 24-year-old will be hoping that the exit of Gonzalo Higuain this summer hands him more of an opportunity in the striker role at [Napoli](https://readseriea.com/), but that may not be the case as interest builds from West Ham and Saints.

Gabbiadini can play in an attacking midfield role if need be but is a more than capable forward; something that Slaven Bilic is very much in the market for this summer as he looks to bolster his striking options.
