# Andre Ayew deal all but confirmed

Despite Diafra Sakho’s £16m deal to West Brom falling through, West Ham are still ready to splash out £20m to secure the services of Swansea forward Andre Ayew. The deal has been rumoured for a while, but a series of events in the last 24 hours mean that it is effectively complete now with just a medical and the clubs confirmation to come.

A key factor in Swansea letting Ayew go was them signing a striker themselves, much like the Hammers refuse to let both Sakho and Enner Valencia leave before they sign a new striker themselves. Swansea yesterday announced the signing of Fernando Llorente on a two-year deal, freeing up Ayew for his move to East London.

Meanwhile, the infamous ‘Boleyn Insider’ reported on the West Ham website that the club are “set to make a substantial signing within the next 72 hours” and that this would be a forward.

Following this, a friend of Ayew’s tweeted a picture of the Ghana international coming to say goodbye to him “ahead of his move from Swansea to West Ham”.

All of the arrows are certainly pointing in the right direction for the transfer, with all the major media outlets also reporting that the deal is soon-to-be completed. Hopefully not long now until Andre Ayew is officially a West Ham player, he could even be revealed at half time at the Juventus game on Sunday.
