# Cagliari confident of sealing Mauricio Isla deal

Serie A side Cagliari are confident of securing a deal to sign Juventus defender Mauricio Isla ahead of West Ham this summer.

According to Italian source Tuttosport (via the [Essex Chronicle](https://www.essexchronicle.co.uk/west-ham-join-watford-and-bayern-munich-in-midfielder-chase/story-29565053-detail/story.html)), West Ham have made an enquiry into the availability of the right-back given their lack of recognised full-backs in the squad.

[Bayer Leverkusen](https://readbundesliga.com/), Cagliari and [Watford](https://readwatford.com/) are all keen on the Chile international as well, say [Tuttosport](https://www.tuttojuve.com/calciomercato/tuttosport-cagliari-isla-slitta-l-incontro-322187), while [Bayern Munich](https://readbundesliga.com/) are also monitoring the situation.

Following the arrival of former [Barcelona](https://readlaliga.com/) star Dani Alves in Turin, Isla is almost certainly set to leave Juventus this summer, with a deal likely to be completed before the window slams shut.

The 28-year-old has [Premier League](https://readpl.com/) experience with Queens Park [Rangers](https://readrangers.com/) having spent the 2014/15 season on loan with [Rangers](https://readrangers.com/) as they were relegated back to the Championship.

Isla spent last season on loan with Marseille but failed to impress enough to secure a permanent move.

[Speaking recently](https://www.cagliarinews24.com/cagliari-il-ds-capozucca-siamo-fiduciosi-per-l-affare-isla-17928.html), Cagliari sporting director Stefano Capozucca has stated that he’s confident the Serie A side will win the race for Isla this summer.

“*We are confident and we hope to be able to get a definitive answer from Isla. The boy is liked by project at Cagliari, and slowly we are approaching the white smoke,*” said the Cagliari director.
