# Newcastle reject bids for West Ham target Ayoze Perez

Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez has confirmed that they have rejected two bids for striker Ayoze Perez who has been [linked with a move to West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/28/west-ham-target-ayoze-perez-wanted-by-barcelona/), Everton, Barcelona and Inter Milan this summer.

The 23-year-old moved to [Newcastle](https://readnewcastle.com/) from Tenerife in 2014. He was offered the chance to join the B teams of both [Barcelona](https://readlaliga.com/) and [Real Madrid](https://readlaliga.com/) but chose to join the [Magpies](https://readnewcastle.com/) instead as he figured it would be a better move for his career at that particular time.

The Spanish U21 international was linked with moves to both [Tottenham](https://readtottenham.com/) and [Manchester United](https://readmanutd.com/) in the recent past, but he ignored their advances and instead chose to sign a new five-year contract with the [Magpies](https://readnewcastle.com/).

The [La Liga](https://readlaliga.com/) champions were hopeful of signing Luciano Vietto from [Atletico Madrid](https://readlaliga.com/) this summer but the Argentine striker has opted for [Sevilla](https://readlaliga.com/) instead, forcing [Barcelona](https://readlaliga.com/) to reignite their interest in Perez.

[Newcastle](https://readnewcastle.com/) are not willing to let Perez go on the cheap despite their relegation and have put a £15m price-tag on his shoulders.

Speaking today, Rafa Benitez has confirmed that Newcastle have rejected two offers for Ayoze and that he’s not for sale.

“*This year we have received two offers (for Perez),*” Benitez told [BBC Newcastle](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36968594). “*We don’t want to sell him.*

“*He has been working very hard during the summer, he is doing well. Directly, one coach was calling me, asking for him, with a good price to be fair.*“
