# West Ham target Charlie Taylor hands in transfer request

Leeds left-back Charlie Taylor has handed in a transfer request amid interest from West Ham, Manchester United, Liverpool and Burnley.

According to regional source [Radio Yorkshire](https://www.radioyorkshire.co.uk/pages/taylor-hands-in-transfer-request/), the young defender is eager to leave Elland Road this summer and is looking to force his way out.

The 22-year-old has just one-year left on his contract with the Championship club and has signalled his intent not to sign an extension.

Leeds owner Massimo Cellino had promised earlier this summer that Taylor would not be sold in this transfer window but now it appears the young defender is trying to force his hand.

West Ham signed another young fullback in Sam Byram from Leeds back in January for just £3.7m, another player whose contract was running down and had no intent on signing an extension.

The Hammers are eager to sign a left-back before their Premier League opener against Chelsea and have identified Taylor as a possible addition.

They need to move swiftly however as Manchester United, Liverpool and Burnley are all also keeping tabs on the situation.
