# Achraf Lazaar keen on West Ham move, talks ongoing

According to a recent report from [Gianluca di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/calciomercato/west-ham-obiettivo-lazaar-contatti-in-corso-con-il-palermo/), West Ham are edging closer to sealing a deal for Palermo left-back Achraf Lazaar.

It was yesterday claimed by Goal and O Jogo journalist Bruno Andrade that Lazaar was the subject of interest from Slaven Bilic’s men, but it now looks as though a move is looking likelier than ever.

> Twitter: Roma e West Ham são os dois novos clubes que disputam a contratação do lateral-esquerdo Lazaar, do Palermo. Sporting está fora da briga (@brunoandrd)

> Twitter: Lyon fez uma proposta de 2 milhões de euros por Lazaar. Palermo quer pelo menos 4 milhões. Roma e West Ham vão tentar oferecer 3 milhões (@brunoandrd)

The tweets suggest that Lyon have already been in contact for a move but have not met Palermo’s valuation of Lazaar; something that West Ham appear close to doing.

The report from di Marzio claims that the Moroccan defender himself is keen on the switch to West Ham and that talks between The Irons and Lazaar’s Palermo side are currently ongoing.

A new signing in the left-back position cannot come soon enough for West Ham after they recently lost first-choice defender Aaron Cresswell to an injury that will keep him out for up to four months.
