# AC Milan set Carlos Bacca transfer deadline

AC Milan have [set a deadline of July 31st](https://www.milanlive.it/2016/07/25/calciomercato-milan-west-ham-luiz-adriano-dzeko/) for the transfer of Carlos Bacca to be completed or they will remove him from the transfer list.

West Ham remain hopeful that Carlos Bacca will eventually agree to a move to the East London but it remains unlikely at this stage with the player’s heart set on a move to a Champions League club.

The Serie A side have accepted a £25.6m bid from the Hammers for Bacca earlier this month – the only offer they’ve accepted for the Colombian striker, but so far contract talks have been less than successful.

A four-year deal worth £90,000-a-week plus bonuses is on offer to the 29-year-old who has continued to stall on accepting because he is holding out for that elusive Champions League club to come in for him.

Arsenal have cooled their interest, Napoli have had a bid turned down and are now looking at signing Mauro Icardi from Inter Milan, while Atletico Madrid, PSG and Sevilla have all ruled themselves out of the race to sign Bacca.

Milan are short on transfer funds and are desperate to sell Bacca in order to finance moves for Villarreal defender Mateo Mussachio and Udinese midfielder Piotr Zielinski.

To force a move, Milan dropped Bacca from their pre-season tour squad which angered the striker, hoping that the possibility of him not being involved in first-team action would help him realise his future is elsewhere.

Bacca is happy to wait for that Champions League offer to come in, whether it does remains another question. West Ham’s offer will sit on the table for the foreseeable future until they either close in on another target or Milan put an end to Bacca’s departure.

The Hammers are even willing to increase their contract offer again in order to push through a move, hoping that they can buy Bacca’s consent.

Milan have set a deadline of July 31st for Carlos Bacca’s transfer to be completed and should he still remain at the club by then they will welcome him back to the squad and make him unavailable for sale.

For West Ham and Bacca, the clock is ticking.
