# Mario Gomez agrees terms to Borussia Dortmund move

West Ham target Mario Gomez has agreed terms over a return to the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund, according to [Football Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/88220/report-mario-gomez-borussia-dortmund).

The German international has been on loan to Turkish side Besiktas from Serie A’s Fiorentina, but has [confirmed that he won’t return](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/21/no-besiktas-move-west-ham-target-mario-gomez/) to the club due to the civil unrest in Turkey.

> The reason for this is completely down to the political situation. There are no sporting or any other reasons that have made me make this decision. It is purely down to the terrible events that happened in the last few days.

Gomez netted 27 goals in all competitions for Besiktas last season which has led to Fiorentina looking to cash-in on the striker who impressed for Germany at Euro 2016.

The Hammers are said to be keen on Gomez, but have struggled to agree a deal for him thus far in the transfer window and now look set to miss out on him completely after it’s claimed he’s agreed terms to a move to Borussia Dortmund.

With just one-year left on his contract with the Serie A club, Gomez could be had on the cheap which is what’s making him an attractive option to a number of clubs.
