# West Ham reject £10m bid from Manchester City for Oxford

West Ham are understood to have turned down a £10m offer from Manchester City for Reece Oxford, according to the [Essex Chronicle](https://www.essexchronicle.co.uk/reece-oxford-bids-rejected-as-two-clubs-fail-to-meet-west-ham-united-s-valuation/story-29531479-detail/story.html).

Pep Guardiola has had scouts watch Oxford whilst on international duty with the England U19 squad at their European Championships and has made an offer for the teenager.

Tottenham and Manchester United are also believed to be tracking the young defender and have scouts watching him also.

The Hammers have already turned down a £10m bid for their talented youngster from [Bundesliga](https://readbundesliga.com/) side Leipzip and will not entertain offers below their £15m valuation but remain firm on the stance that he’s not for sale.

It’s believed West Ham will open contract talks with the 17-year-old and his representatives when he returns from his excursions with the England U19 side. His current deal runs until the summer of 2018.

Oxford became West Ham’s youngest ever player when he featured in the Europa League qualifiers last summer aged just 16 and went on to make 12 first-team appearances in a breakthrough season.

Manchester City reportedly lodged a £10m bid which was swiftly rejected by the Hammers who state that Oxford is not for sale at any price.
