# West Ham approach Inter Milan for Eder

West Ham have approached Inter Milan about the possibility of signing Eder this summer, according to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.it/news/388932/calciomercato-inter-il-west-ham-su-eder.html).

The Hammers have already been turned down by one striker in Milan as Carlos Bacca has rejected a move to West Ham (for now) and remains with AC Milan until a Champions League club comes in for him.

Following his rejection, West Ham have now approached Inter Milan to sign Eder. The versatile forward joined Inter on an 18-month loan in January from Sampdoria for a fee of £1.7m, and still has another year to run on his loan contract.

However, it’s believed Inter Milan are considering terminating that loan deal after Eder failed to impress in the half-season he spent at the San Siro, scoring just once in 15 appearances.

That came after Eder netted 12 goals in 19 appearances for parent club Sampdoria between August and January. He never settled in at Inter and manager Roberto Mancini would be open to replacing him.

Able to play as a secondary striker or on either wing, Eder formed an effective partnership with former Southampton striker Graziano Pelle at Euro 2016 as Italy progressed to the quarter-finals before being beaten 7-6 on penalties by Germany.

There has yet to be an official offer put forward to Inter and Sampdoria for the termination of the loan deal and the permanent transfer of Eder, but he is now an option for the Hammers who are desperate for a striker.
