# West Ham close in on Khouma Babacar

West Ham are closing in on a deal to sign Khouma Babacar this summer as Fiorentina line up Hull striker Abel Hernandez as his replacement, according to [Calciomercato](https://www.calciomercato.com/en/news/fiorentina-to-line-up-abel-hernandez-bid-if-babacar-departs-236707).

The Italian report also claims that promoted sides Hull and Middlesbrough are both interested in the Senegalese striker who is set to leave Fiorentina this summer as he doesn’t feature in manager Paulo Sousa’s plans for next season.

The 27-year-old striker netted 7 times in 24 appearances for the Serie A club last season and has 20 goals in 79 appearances for the club he’s been with for his entire career, but Fiorentina are now willing to sell Babacar for just €12m.

Hull striker Abel Hernandez is being eyed up as a replacement for Babacar at Fiorentina after an impressive season with the Tigers scoring 22 goals as they returned to the Premier League at the first attempt.

West Ham are unsure whether they’ll complete the signing of Carlos Bacca from AC Milan following unsuccessful talks with the Colombian’s representatives and are now preparing alternative moves should he reject them.
