# West Ham and Tottenham enquire to sign Mandragora

Both West Ham and Tottenham have [enquired into the possibility](https://www.insidefutbol.com/2016/07/13/tottenham-hotspur-and-west-ham-enquire-about-italy-under-21-star/294808/) of signing highly-rated Juventus midfielder Rolando Mandragora.

The 19-year-old midfielder joined Juventus in January for £5.1m on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Genoa after impressing in the first-half of last season on loan with Pescara.

With no room for him in their Serie A title-winning squad, Juventus immediately sent him back on loan to Pescara for the rest of the season. He made 26 appearances in Serie B for the club before breaking a metatarsal in his foot in May and missed the rest of the season, including their Serie B Play-Off triumph over Trapani.

The Hammers actually [were looking to sign the Italian U21 international](https://readwestham.com/2015/12/10/west-ham-set-7-25m-asking-price-u21-international/) back in January but decided against the move.

Mandragora, a central midfielder by trade, capably filled in at centre-back for Pescara during the second half of last season proving he has great versatility and room to develop.

There’s loan interest from Bologna, Sassuolo and Crotone, while Pescara remain interested in bringing the young midfielder back for another season.

Both West Ham and Tottenham have enquired into signing Mandragora this summer but it is unknown what role he will have under Massimiliano Allegri in Turin this coming season as he is yet to evaluate his squad.
