# West Ham struggling to agree deal for Mario Gomez

West Ham are struggling to agree a financial package with Mario Gomez in order to sign him from Fiorentina this summer, claims the [London Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/carlos-bacca-to-west-ham-ac-milan-striker-to-decide-on-26million-move-a3293866.html).

The 30-year-old striker was in fine form last season on loan with Besiktas, netting 27 goals in all competitions as the Turkish outfit won the Super Lig title. His efforts were not overlooked by Joachim Low who called up the veteran front-man to his German national squad for [Euro 2016](https://readeuro2016.com/) where he netted in two of his three starts.

The Super Lig champions are keen to bring back Gomez, but West Ham are the side leading the race as they can, financially speaking, offer the best deal to both Fiorentina and Gomez. The striker is under contract with the Serie A club until 2017 but they are looking to cash-in following a strong season and are looking for around £4m.

However, despite a deal with Fiorentina being fairly straight-forward, the Hammers are having no such ease with Mario Gomez’s representatives regarding his personal terms.

Gomez is demanding big wages to move to the club and the Hammers aren’t willing to match those demands, seeing as they’re on the verge of making AC Milan striker Carlos Bacca one of the highest paid players at the club, should they come to an agreement in the near future.
