# West Ham turn down £10m offer from Lazio for Valencia

West Ham have turned down a fresh bid from Lazio worth £10m for wantaway striker Enner Valencia, according to the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/687961/West-Ham-Enner-Valencia-Lazio-10m-Bid-Rejected-Premier-League-Transfer-News-China-News).

Valencia expressed his desire to leave the club through his agent this week and the Hammers are equally eager to find a buyer for the flop striker.

The Ecuadorian international has scored just 10 goals in 61 games for West Ham since his £12m move from Pachuca two years ago, and the club are eager to recoup as much of that fee as possible.

They had [received a large offer from an unnamed Chinese Super League side](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/09/enner-valencia-snubs-chinese-super-league/) recently which they were prepared to accept but Valencia turned down a move as he wants to continue his career in a top European league, namely either Serie A or La Liga.

The 26-year-old [had agreed to a move to Italy with Lazio](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/07/enner-valencia-agrees-lazio-switch/), should the Serie A club agree a deal with the Hammers for the striker.

They had initially only been looking at a £2m loan deal with a mandatory £10m purchase option which would be exercised next summer, but have since changed their stance and offered £10m to sign him on a permanent basis this summer.

However, the Express state the Hammers have turned this offer down and are standing firm on their £13m asking price for Valencia, who is highly unlikely to remain at the club for the start of the Premier League season five weeks away.
