# West Ham rule out a Carlos Tevez return

West Ham have now ruled out a move for Boca Juniors striker Carlos Tevez after he prices himself out of a return, according to Spanish source [Equilibrio Informativo](https://equilibrioinformativo.com/2016/07/west-ham-descart-el-regreso-de-carlos-t-vez/).

Co-owner David Sullivan confirmed earlier this month that the Hammers had indeed made an offer to Tevez to make a sensational return to the club, nine years after he left for Manchester United.

The Argentina international striker joined the Hammers from Corinthians in 2006 and, despite taking until March to score his first goal for the club, netted seven times and assisted four times in the club’s final 10 Premier League games to help West Ham beat the drop.

Sullivan stated the Hammers had offered Tevez £150,000-a-week plus bonuses to return to the club, an offer the 32-year-old scoffed at, stating he would only consider moving back to the Premier League if they paid him £250,000-a-week.

It was reported that the Hammers could [consider making a second offer to Tevez](https://readwestham.com/2016/07/08/another-offer-possible-tevez/) later in the window, but now those claims have been laid to rest.

Tevez scored 34 times in 99 appearances for Manchester United before joining bitter rivals Manchester City for £24.5m where he went on to score 73 goals in 148 games.

Juventus then shelled out £7.6m for the striker in the summer of 2013 where he went on to score 39 goals in 66 Serie A games and 50 in 96 across all competitions, but last summer it was his heart’s desire to return to Argentina and Boca Juniors, who paid £5.5m to bring Tevez home.
