# Fenerbahce close in on Hammers target Ziyech

Fenerbahce are believed to be closing in on the signing of FC Twente midfielder Hakim Ziyech, [who is wanted by West Ham](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/27/west-ham-keen-signing-hakim-ziyech/), Southampton, Crystal Palace, Swansea and Sunderland this summer.

According to Turkish source [Sabah](https://www.sabah.com.tr/spor/futbol/2016/07/08/fenerbahcede-oncelik-hakim-ziyech?paging=4), Fenerbahce want Ziyech to replace the recently departed Luis Nani who’s joined Valencia in a deal believed to be worth around €8.5m.

The Eredivisie side have set a €12m asking price for Ziyech this summer, who wants the fee to be dropped to around €8m to force through a move. Fenerbahce are in talks to meet somewhere in the middle.

The Moroccan international has proven to be one of the best goalscoring midfielders in European football since his £2.6m move from SC Heerenveen to FC Twente two years ago.

Ziyech scored an impressive 17 Eredivisie goals last season, assisting 12 more in 33 appearances, and has recorded 32 goals and 29 assists in 72 games for the club since his arrival.

Goals from midfield isn’t something West Ham were lacking last season. Dimitri Payet top-scored with 12 goals in all competitions from attacking midfield, while Manuel Lanzini and Mark Noble both chipped in with seven goals and Cheikhou Kouyate netted five times himself.
