# Besiktas eye Mikel as Hutchinson nears West Ham move

Besiktas are preparing themselves for Atiba Hutchinson’s departure as they line up a move for Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel, according to Turkish source [HaberTurk](https://www.haberturk.com/spor/futbol/haber/1263993-besiktasta-atiba-hutchinsonin-alternatifi-john-obi-mikel).

The Canadian international midfielder is wanted by Slaven Bilic at West Ham to add depth to their midfielder for the upcoming season, but thus far the two clubs have been struggling to agree on a fee for Hutchinson.

Much like the Gokhan Tore deal, which is set to be completed today, West Ham’s chase for Hutchinson has been ongoing for weeks. The 33-year-old midfielder has expressed his desire to join West Ham, but Besiktas club president Fikret Orman confirms they’ve rejected a bid from the Hammers as talks continue.

> Atiba Hutchinson wants to play for West Ham & has told Besitkas. I didn’t accept a €3.5m bid.

It’s widely expected that the two clubs will, at some point, come to an agreement for Hutchinson’s transfer. Besiktas have set a €5m asking price for the midfielder who has one year left to run on his current deal with the Turkish Super Lig champions.

Besiktas, should they sell Hutchinson to the Hammers, will look to replace him with Chelsea’s John Obi Mikel and have been quoted €7m for his signature.
