# Leicester agree €16m fee for West Ham target Mendy

Leicester City have reached an agreement with OGC Nice for the transfer of West Ham target Nampalys Mendy. [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Mercato-nampalys-mendy-nice-va-rejoindre-leicester-le-champion-d-angleterre/699855) believe the fee is €16million (approximately £13million) plus add ons and bonuses.

Mendy is thought to be the successor to French star N’Golo Kante who played a major role in Leicester’s Premier League title triumph last season. Kante’s performance attracted attention from a host of clubs across Europe and Claudio Ranieri is now resigned to losing him. Mendy is a player in a similar mold to the 24-year-old and will be a worthy replacement.

Mendy and his agent visited Leicester’s training ground last Monday to check out the facilities. He also engaged in talks while in England and agreed a four-year deal, subject to a medical examination.

Slaven Bilic is certainly keen on bolstering his midfield options this summer, with [Mario Lemina](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/27/west-ham-tottenham-interested-juventus-star-mario-lemina/) and [Joe Allen](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/26/joe-allen-west-hams-radar/) both emerging as West Ham targets within the last 24 hours.
