# Stoke set to land West Ham target Berahino

Stoke are set to beat West Ham,Tottenham, Everton, Crystal Palace and Watford to the signing of wantaway West Brom striker Saido Berahino this summer.

According to the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/crystal-palace-join-saido-berahino-8219630), the Potters have handed Berahino a lucrative contract worth £70,000-a-week and will pay a huge £16m for his services.

The 22-year-old striker was in-and-out of the Baggies’ first-team last season after numerous fallings out with manager Tony Pulis and his coaching staff stemming back to last summer when he was denied a move to Tottenham despite serveral bids from the North London side.

Berahino had a breakthrough season for West Brom in 2014/15 scoring 20 goals in 45 appearances in all competitions, but only managed seven in 35 last term.

His impressive form earned him a call up to the England squad but he is currently uncapped by Roy Hodgson and has fallen down the pecking order of late.

West Ham reportedly received an offer from West Brom earlier in June which was a straight-swap deal [offering Saido Berahino in exchange for Diafra Sakho](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/14/west-brom-offer-berahino-sakho/) who himself has been heavily linked with a move away from East London.

However it appears Stoke have struck a deal with West Brom from Berahino who looks set to end his nightmare time in the Midlands.
