# West Ham battle Tottenham, Milan for Vazquez

West Ham have joined Tottenham, West Brom, AC Milan, Roma and Fiorentina in the race to sign highly-rated Palermo attacker Franco Vazquez this summer.

According to Italian source [Ilsole24ore.com](https://www.ilsole24ore.com/art/notizie/2016-06-18/palermo-vazquez-attende-milan-e-roma-173737.shtml?uuid=ADsaEie&refresh_ce=1), Palermo have slapped a €25m asking price on Vazquez after a stunning season in Serie A scoring eight goals and recording six assists from attacking midfield.

Palermo have already turned down one offer of €15m this summer from West Brom, stating that they will not sell Vazquez for a penny less than their asking price.

West Ham and Tottenham have also registered interest in signing the 27-year-old this summer who has won two caps for Italy after switching allegiance from Argentina where he was born.

However they face a battle from Serie A trio AC Milan, Roma and Fiorentina who all wish to sign the attacking midfielder and keep him in Italian football.

Because of the increasing interest in Vazquez this summer, Palermo chairman Maurizio Zamparini is prepared to fend off interest from lesser clubs such as West Brom with the hope that the likes of AC Milan and Tottenham will make big money bids.

There is no certainty that those offers will come in, however, as West Ham continue to monitor the situation.
