# Everton, Southampton join Hammers in Zaza chase

West Ham have been joined by Premier League rivals Southampton and Everton in the race to sign Juventus striker Simone Zaza this summer.

According to respected Italian journalist [Gianluca Di Marzio](https://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/multiple-premier-league-clubs-join-west-ham-in-race-for-simone-zaza/), the Premier League trio are all eyeing moves for the Italian striker who is currently with his country at Euro 2016.

Zaza played a key role in Italy’s 1-0 win over Sweden as it was his knockdown to Eder which resulted in the Inter Milan forward to finish with just three minutes left on the clock.

Following his £13.5m move to Juventus from Sassuolo last summer, Zaza was been resigned to being the fourth choice striker for the Turin-based club behind the likes of Paulo Dybala, Mario Mandzukic and Alvaro Morata.

That being said, he had a knack of making an impact off the bench this past season, scoring four of his five Serie A goals after coming on as a substitute and totalled eight goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

The 24-year-old has scored just once in his 12 caps for Italy but is entrusted by Antonio Conte to do the job tasked of him when he’s called upon.

West Ham tried and failed to sign Zaza last summer on loan shortly after his move to Juventus when it became apparent he wouldn’t be a started every week and have reignited their interest a year later but will need to fend off Southampton and Everton to secure his services.
