# West Brom keen on £15m-rated Sakho

[According to the Express and Star](https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/west-bromwich-albion-fc/2016/06/14/west-brom-set-to-move-for-diafra-sakho/), West Brom have put across their interest in Diafra Sakho, but face a battle from Sunderland after the striker signalled his intent to Slaven Bilic to leave the Hammers.

26-year-old Sakho has now been named as a wanted target by Tony Pulis at West Brom, following West Ham’s idea to set aside at least £30m to spend on a forward this summer.

David Gold and co. have been already busy this summer, trying to lure Lyon striker [Alexander Lacazette to East London, but to no avail – yet.](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/13/west-hams-32m-lacazette-bid-rejected/)

It has also been reported that the Hammers have also shown an interest previously in Marseille’s [Michy Batshuayi](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/13/batshuayi-rejects-west-ham-contract-offer/) and AC Milan’s [Carlos Bacca](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/11/psg-steal-march-west-ham-race-bacca/).

In search of regular playing time, Sakho has asked to leave the Hammers with fellow Premier League side [Sunderland](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/13/sakho-hands-transfer-request-12m-sunderland-bid/) expressing an interest.

In front of goal, Sakho had a good season his first year, netting 12 times in just 26 appearances following his £3.5m from French side, Metz. However, last season was not as successful for Sakho after he netted just five times in the league and had a falling out with Slaven Bilic over playing time.

It appears the two sides will go their separate ways this summer, it’s just a matter of who comes closest to West Ham’s £15m valuation of the Senegalese international.
