# West Ham linked with move for Ghezzal

West Ham have been linked with a move for impressive Lyon attacking midfielder Rachid Ghezzal this summer, who is also a reported target for the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, Napoli and Liverpool.

According to [Le Buteur](https://www.lebuteur.com/article/detail?titre=ghezzal-plus-que-jamais-proche-du-psg&id=53776), the Hammers have joined the race for the Algerian international play-maker, who switched his allegiances to the African side last year after making four appearances for the French U20 side.

The 24-year-old really made a name for himself during the 2015/16 season, scoring eight goals and recorded eight assists in 29 Ligue 1 appearances for Lyon last term.

Ghezzal is the fourth Lyon star to be linked with a move to East London this summer. The Hammers have already seen a [£31m bid for Alexandre Lacazette](https://readwestham.com/2016/05/01/west-ham-lodge-club-record-bid-alexandre-lacazette/) turned down, while they are also said to be [keen on his strike partner Nabil Fekir](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/07/west-ham-club-record-move-nabil-fekir/) and [strong centre-back Samuel Umtiti](https://readwestham.com/2016/05/31/west-ham-lead-race-to-sign-defender/), but the latter is said to be closing in on a move to Barcelona.

The Algerian., however, is most likely to move to PSG who are said to be closest to his signature. There is also interest from Serie A with Juventus and Napoli who are monitoring the situation while Jurgen Klopp is keeping tabs on the right-winger as a possible addition to his Liverpool squad.

Able to play on the right as well as the left, Ghezzal has just one-year left to run on his contract this summer which could force Lyon and club president Jean-Michel Aulas to cash-in on the player should he reject a new deal.

West Ham are determined to land a winger or two this summer. They are[closing in on the signing of Gokhan Tore](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/12/bilic-confirms-west-ham-move-tore-2/) after agreeing a £13m fee for the player, while Slaven Bilic took to Turkish TV to confirm his interest in signing the former Chelsea man [as well as his team-mate](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/12/atiba-hutchinson-west-hams-radar-bilic/) Atiba Hutchinson.

The Hammers are also said to be [nearing completion of a deal to sign free agent winger Sofiane Fehgouli](https://readwestham.com/2016/06/11/feghouli-rejects-fenerbahce-west-ham-switch-nears/) this summer. The former Valencia man is understood to have turned down an approach from Fenerbahce in order to continue his career in the Premier League with West Ham.
