# Olympic Stadium naming rights expected to be sold

West Ham will leave Upton Park at the end of the season to begin playing home games at the Olympic Stadium.

However, it appears that the stadium will be known by another name; the Mahindra Stadium, after it was revealed in [The Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/04/19/olympic-stadium-may-be-renamed-mahindra-stadium-ahead-of-west-ha/) that the London Legacy Development Corporation are close to tying up a deal worth around £6million a year, of which £1million will go to West Ham, with the a technology giant and car manufacturer; the Mahindra Group.

The Indian corporation have seen the opportunity to get their name heard across the world at Premier Leauge matches and the LLDC are keen to get a sponsor in place to help them balance the books.

West Ham will be charged £2.5million per year in rent throughout their stay at the stadium, which will give them a huge financial boost as they don’t have to pay for the upkeep of the stadium.
