# West Ham consider move for Gustavo Bou

West Ham’s Co-Chairman David Sullivan recently [announced](https://readwestham.com/2016/03/28/west-ham-chairman-would-love-to-sign-zlatan-ibrahimovic/) that the club’s main aim this summer is to bring in a striker to add to their already impressive squad.

However, a report by Simon Jones of [The Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3534871/Aston-Villa-striker-Jordan-Ayew-targeted-West-Ham-boss-Slaven-Bilic-prepares-offload-Diafra-Sakho.html) suggests that the Hammers actually want to sign two strikers.

One of those strikers is likely to be a major, big money signing, with the likes of Michy Batshuayi, Christian Benteke, Wilfried Bony and Alexandre Lacazette being mentioned.

However, the Hammers are also likely to being in a second, cheaper option to add depth to the squad and one player they are reportedly lining up for this role is Racing Club’s Gustavo Bou.

The 26-year-old signed for Racing on a free transfer from River Plate in 2014 and has gone on to score 29 goals in 46 games for Facundo Sava’s side.

Whilst the Hammers have shown an interest in Bou, it’s by no means certain that they’ll make a move for him. He’s just one name on a shortlist along with [Jordan Ayew](https://readastonvilla.com/2016/04/12/west-ham-line-move-ayew/).
