With it almost certain that three of Norwich, Newcastle, Sunderland and Aston Villa are set to be relegated from the Premier League this season, we’ve looked at who might be worth keeping in the top flight next year from their squads.
It’s never easy picking through squads that are destined for the drop, but there have been some individual positives from their dismal team performances.
You probably won’t agree with all of the ten players we’ve listed but they will all provide exceptional value once their respective teams enter the Championship.
West Ham have surprised many this season with consistently terrific performances, however, the squad depth has been challenged and stretched during the campaign. With more potential European football in the offing next season it would be an oversight not to add experience and depth to a relatively thin 25 man roster.
Let us know in the comments who you think is the most eligible addition to the current West Ham squad.
Ayoze Perez
The young Spaniard has been impressive for Newcastle since his £1m arrival at the start of last season, and has potential to be a quality forward.
Georginio Wijnaldum
The Dutch midfielder has been one of the few bright spots for Newcastle this season with his goals.
Jack Grealish
Oozing with talent, Grealish has the ability to become one of Britain’s very best footballers if he can keep his head on his shoulders.
Jonjo Shelvey
The England international is a West Ham fan and is one of the better passers in the Premier League and could be a quality addition to the squad.
Daryl Janmaat
The attacking fullback would provide a quality experienced option at right-back that the Hammers have been crying out for.
Adama Traore
Born and bred at Barcelona’s La Masia, Traore has proven to be one of the league’s most dazzling young wingers when given an opportunity.
Nathan Redmond
And the same can be said for England youth international Nathan Redmond, who’s always shown glimpses of his immense talent.
Wahbi Khazri
Only arriving in the Premier League during the January transfer window, the forward has made some impressive performances for Sunderland.
Micah Richards
Experience at the highest level cannot be valued enough, and Richards would provide excellent cover at several positions.
