# West Ham one of four clubs chasing Brazilian midfielder

West Ham are one of four clubs who are interested in signing Benfica’s Anderson Talisca, according to a report from [Brazil](https://odia.ig.com.br/esporte/flamengo/2015-12-28/anderson-talisca-na-mira-do-flamengo.html).

The 21-year-old is a versatile player who is comfortable playing as a central midfielder, an attacking midfielder or a second striker, and his performances in Portugal are reportedly catching the eye of numerous clubs.

As well as attracting the attention of the Hammers, three Brazilian clubs – Flamengo, Cruzeiro and Corinthians – are also keen on the Brazilian U23 international.

Talisca has been in and out of the Benfica side this season, making just eight league appearances and reports indicate that he could leave the Lisbon-based side, either on loan or permanently.

Benfica paid a €4 million fee for Talisca in July 2014 as they brought him in from Esporte Clube Bahia in his native Brazil, so any fee for him is likely to be in excess of that amount.

The youngster has been called up to the full Brazilian squad in the past, but has failed to earn a cap, and playing more regular football might aid his chances of getting an opportunity to represent his country.
