# Winger leaves West Ham on permanent basis

Norwich City have posted a message on their [official club website](https://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/norwich-city-to-sign-matt-jarvis-2864659.aspx) which confirms that the expected signing of winger Matt Jarvis from West Ham has now been completed.

There had been speculation recently that Norwich had agreed a £2.5m fee for the England international and that has now been confirmed with this deal that will see Jarvis join the club on a permanent basis from January 2nd.

Jarvis first joined Norwich in the closing minutes of the summer’s transfer deadline day when he signed on a season-long loan having fell out of favour with the new Hammers boss Slaven Bilic.

The 29-year-old, who was capped once for his country, is currently out with a knee injury but has been very impressive in the games that he has featured in. Jarvis has netted twice this season for Norwich; in a 3-0 win over West Brom and a 3-1 win over Bournemouth.
