# West Ham linked with international defender

West Ham are interested in signing defender Omar Elabdellaoui from Olympiacos, according to [reports](https://www.eatsleepsport.com/west-ham-united/hammers-prepare-bid-for-champions-league-right-ba-2031544.html#.VnvSeDa6LFI).

The Norwegian international right back has been in impressive form for the Greek side this year and that has apparently caught the eye of the Hammers scouts.

With Carl Jenkinson in a poor run of form, improving the right back position could be seen as a priority for Slaven Bilic as he looks to make a push for European football in the New Year.

Elabdellaoui is no stranger to life in England. He moved to Manchester City as a 16-year-old, but he failed to make the grade and eventually left for German side Eintracht Braunschweig after loans with Strømsgodset and Feyenoord.

Olympiacos are apparently keen to keep Elabdellaoui and they are not desperate to sell him as he still has over two years left on his contract, but they could sell if West Ham’s offer is one they seem too good to turn down.
