# Bilic praises Hammers performance

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has [praised](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/bilic-lauds-great-west-ham-spirit-after-swansea-draw) his side following a resolute display away to Swansea City, a display that was good enough to earn a 0-0 draw.

The result leaves the Hammers eighth in the Premier League and only four points off Spurs in fourth place with 16 games gone in the season.

Things have not been easy for West Ham in the last month with star players Dimitri Payet, Winston Reid and Manuel Lanzini all being ruled out injured for long periods of time.

Without some of their best attacking talents against Swansea, West Ham needed a strong defensive performance to hold off the managerless Welsh side and that is what they provided.

Given how much Swansea pressed throughout the match, credit must be given to West Ham’s defensive performance and how they managed to hold on and keep a clean sheet, as well as create chances themselves with Enner Valencia in particular impressing out wide.

Speaking after the match, Bilic said this:

> It’s a good point for us. I want to praise my team because they showed great spirit. It was a good collective performance. Exactly what I said when those injuries hit us big time a few weeks ago, the only way we can compensate is with teamwork. That is exactly what we’ve done in the last three games. Three clean sheets and three points. I really want to praise the guys.
