# CSKA Moscow respond to Doumbia rumours

According to [HITC Sport](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2015/11/24/cska-moscow-give-response-to-west-hams-reported-pursuit-of-seydo/) CSKA Moscow have responded to West Ham’s rumoured interest in £14 million rated Seydou Doumbia.

The Hammers have apparently been tracking Doumbia for a couple of months now, however there has never been anything official from either club. CSKA have now spoken out.

The Ivorian international is currently on loan to CSKA Moscow from Roma. The general director of CSKA Moscow, Roman Babaev, claims that West Ham have made no official enquiry. The only way he knows about the reported interest is through newspapers.

Doumbia first joined CSKA Moscow from Swiss side Young Boys in the 2010 January transfer window. Doumbia instantly became a fan favourite scoring 84 goals in just 129 games for the Russian club. He recently moved to Italian giants Roma however despite Roma being a world known team he wasn’t really enjoying himself so he requested a loan back to Russia.

Italian newspaper [Tutto mercarto](https://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/serie-a/roma-il-west-ham-in-pressing-per-doumbia-pronti-20-milioni-756404) earlier claimed that the two clubs had been in negotiations over a £14 million deal that would bring the striker to London. However this does not seem to be the case.

West Ham may be looking to sign a new striker as they look to offload Andy Carroll in January. With West Hams style of play they will be looking for a strong, fast attacker who will score in many situations.
