# West Ham give update on injured duo

In an official club [statement](https://www.whufc.com/News/Articles/2015/November/16-November/Payet-and-Valencia-injury-boost), West Ham have given updates on the progress of two of their injured stars; Enner Valencia and Dimitri Payet.

West Ham were without Valencia for a number of months. He worked to get back fit but he was unfortunately re-injured against Everton.

It has been revealed that the Ecuadorian is expected to return in the new year, which would be a huge boost for West Ham as they look to maintain their Premier League form this term.

Another boost for Hammers fans is the news that Payet does not require surgery on his injury. This has not affected the original timeline of his injury, which is still thought to be a recovery period of around three months, but not needing surgery means less likelihood of further complications.

Payet had been in outstanding form since joining the club in the summer and the injury he sustained against Everton was one that left a few West Ham supporters worried about their season. The Hammers will need to cope without the Frenchman after his clash with Everton’s James McCarthy.
